More About Me... |
|
Statements such as: "Oh, I love journalism," or "I wanted to become a journalist since childhood" don't work. BORING! Journalists are born journalists; it is not a profession, it is a state of mind... my mind.
I am a hybrid fruit of the Russian-Armenian roots. Does it really mean anything? Yes, only because I speak the two beautiful languages and no, because I believe we all come from the same tree. Am I getting too philosophical? Oh well.
In 2006, my family moved to the United Arab Emirates, and so I've spent most of my life living and studying in Sharjah. I went to a British school, after which got accepted to the American University of Sharjah, in which I studied Journalism, with two minors in International and Governmental studies. On June 13, 2015 I received my Bachelor's degree. Since then I've been writing for Newsweek Middle East magazine as a freelance reporter. I got a chance to travel to New York for writing and reporting bootcamp, interviewed Ruben Vardanyan in Moscow, Noubar Afeyan and Syeda Ghulam Fatima in Yerevan, as well as some prominent Emirati figures such as Essa Al Ghurair and Mohamed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei in Dubai. As much as I'd like to continue expanding my professional journalistic horizons, getting a master's degree is my today's priority. |
